that bring up another weird thing, in the oscillator settings 64' on the Roland is equal to 8' on the TAL. i guess it depends, but i generally prefer being able to go lower than higher. the oscillators can be pitched much further down (two octaves lower) on the TAL, while the Roland can be pitched two octaves higher than the TAL. honestly, i think the TAL version is far better overall due to a number of things.ฤก. there's some small differences in the scaling of the filter cutoff and some other things, but for the most part the TAL is just dead-on as far as the sound. i was so sure that Roland would have produced a better emulation, but i can't say that this is the case at all. the results were pretty surprising, they sound pretty much identical at most all settings. i spent a while today comparing sound of the Roland SH-101 against TAL Bassline-101. i had installed it at some point last year, but didn't have time to really test it out before the 14-day trial period ended. I finally bought the Roland 'SH-101' VST (along with the 'SYSTEM-100') yesterday before the sale ended.
